Halford Hewitt 2026

Rossall are the new cup winners. They beat Winchester 4-1 in the final played on Sunday afternoon, Both of the morning semi-finals were close affairs, with a 3-2 scoreline in each match. Radley won the Plate – for the second year in succession.

The Hewitt semi-finals are Rossall v Loretto and Eton v Winchester; to be played on Sunday morning.

In the Hewitt, prolific past winners Eton and Harrow have reached the quarterfinals, but none will relish the prospect of meeting Loretto, who have reached the same stage, having despatched Whitgift’s conquerors, Wellington, in the third round.

Whitgift’s interest in the Plate came to end on Saturday with a 3-0 defeat to Westminster. On to next year  ……

Whitgift had an easy win over Clifton in the first round of the Prince’s Plate, 2 1/2 – 1/2.

It was not to be. Wellington beat Whitgift 3 1/2 – 1 1/2. Commanding win for Evans/Raison in the top match but that was all the good news. See results below.
